Advocacy

LDC helps to empower parents with the knowledge of the legal entitlements and accommodations available to their children with special needs under FAPE (Free and Appropriate Public Education) and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) in alignment with extended Grade Level Expectations and extended High School Expectations.

LDC may attend Individual Educational Planning Team (IEPT) meetings or Individual Educational Plan (IEP) meetings with parents to enable them to ask for and to receive the entitlements and accommodations to which their children are entitled under federal law.

LDC can assist workers with learning disabilities to achieve equity in the workplace under the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).
